Weekend plans

It's weekend time!  YAY!  You'd think I'd be excited to sleep in tomorrow.  Not so much.  I have to be up around 7 a.m.  ON A SATURDAY!!  What, you may ask, could possibly pull me out of my bed at that hour....Hang on, I'll tell you. After these messages.

Badgers.  Ya'll, that shit is funny.

Oh, right.  I'm going wedding dress shopping tomorrow!!  I'm very excited to put on pretty dresses and have people ooh and aah over me.  It's going to be fantastic.  And accessories.  Shoes.  Veil.  Hair stuff.  WONDERFUL!!!

I also have to go find something for my mother for her birthday.  Which is Sunday.  As in, the day after wedding dress shopping.  She's aware of this.  I'm not usually this bad about getting birthday presents, I just suck this year.  But, so does my dad and my sister.  They both have to take her to get her birthday present tomorrow too.  We all suck.

I went on a milkshake mission tonight.  After shopping with my mom, I decided I needed (yes, *needed*, not wanted) a milkshake.  I went to the first McDonald's I could find because, ya'll, McDonald's still makes one of the best milkshakes ever.  The drive through line was around the building.  At 10:00 at night.  I realize I could have gone in the store, but a milkshake isn't nearly important enough to get out of my car.  I prefer to pack myself full of calories with the least effort possible.   I had to go to McDonald's back in my hometown to get my milkshake.  I could not believe what I tasted.  Was it possible?  Did McDonald's milkshakes really get better with the advent of McCafe?  This is seriously one of the best milkshakes I have ever tasted.  What it really means is I'll have to pull some serious time on the elliptical next week.  More than the one day I managed this past week.

Music edits

I was listening to the radio the other day, and they were playing "Forever" by Papa Roach.  I love this song.  Here's my issue - they literally blepped out "heroin" in the song (and another word that I can't remember).  Certainly I don't think that the radio should be promoting herion usage, but I don't think the song is promoting that at all.  It's a metaphor, for eff's sake!

This probably wouldn't bother me so much if things of this nature were consistenly done.  For instance, this same station frequently plays "Smoke Two Joints" by Sublime.  If you've never heard it, the intro to the song is literally the sound of people taking water bong hits (don't ask me how I know what that sounds like...).  Then it talks about smoking two joints in the morning, smoking two joints at night.  Then it goes on to smoking more joints.  Lots of joints in a day.  Fine.  Why is it okay to promote marijuana use - because "smoke two joints" clearly isn't metaphorical.  I would venture to guess this is more of a literal song.  I was actually quite shocked the station played this song at all.

I don't get it.
